News from me: After we've passed all our courses successfully, Andi and me had time to party! The weekend a week ago, my german buddy and me decided over the night to visit my swiss studymates stuyin' in Helsinki at the moment. It was again a great trip, but read more while scrolling through the pics!
Thanks again to Mischi for the hosting and to Dänu and Lexington Steel for the gorgeous time we spent! IT WAS GREAT!

due to poor signalisation at the harbour, unskilled and unfriendly finnish staff and non-english-spoken loudspeaker announcments, we missed the ferry in Stockholm...
so we had to "sail" to Turku, which is about 200 km outside Helsinki. At least we managed to get out of Stockholm this night! And as an excuse from the ferry-company, we got a 5-star-deluxe-p.diddy-luxurious-suite with free champagne à discréation ;-) of course not: DON'T TRAVEL WITH VIKINGLINE!!! worst travel-company I've ever seen! Go to Italy or France or Africa by train, but not with Vikinglines to Helsinki!!!

Since the temperatures became much warmer - believe it or not, but it's spring in Sweden - we had a couple of nice BBQs either on a lake or directly in front of our student dormitories. Here you can see how we are hiking to a nearby lake in the beautiful nature...

Since Gabi was working for the Swiss Police, we tried to stop some cops to join our party and congratulate Gabi... Almost mission impossible, especially the male cops up here were suddenly all very very busy....

... but once more, the blond swedish girls convinced me ;-) Even tohugh they were wearing an uniform. We had to "buy" them with some candy! :-) But finally they came and wished Gabi "Grattis på födelsdagen"

My mothers cousin Vincent was getting married. Vincent is from my american part of the family. Great opportunity to meet all the US-family-members again. The wedding took place in the Italian part of Switzerland, since the bride Nadja grew up in this lovely area of Switzerland. Lovely wedding couple, great weather, nice guests, tasty food and drinks - great party!

For eastern, we were invited for lunch and fika at Elins parents and grandparents place in Grästorp. The food tasted soooooooooooooooooooo good (As always ;-) )!!! I strongly recommend this place ;-)

Weekend in Switzerland

Last weekend, Elin and me flew down to Switzerland for a couple of days. First we went to Berne and we hang out with my swiss friends. Reason to go down was the "Muster-weekend" of the Muster-Families which takes place every year. This year we met in Engelberg close to Lucerne. It was a great weekend as it is every year, lovely snow and weather conditions, simply fantastic. Enjoy the nice pics!

Hejhej!

This weekend, Pia and Andi have been visited by some friends. Kristian (german Student/Apprentice in a bank in London) and Sophiechen (Student from Germany). We had to show them Sweden from its very best side!
There was a university party at my girlfriends place going on, organised by the faculty of medicine. It was a great trip!

Findings of this weekend:
- Linköping student parties are amazing!
- it is possible to sleep while standing in front of a mirror!
- english bankers drink more than their swiss mates!
- english bankers don't eat breakfest, they drink a beer!
- swedish IKEAs offer FREE refill on beer!!!
- swedish mc donald staff looks HOT!
- 8 people can sleep in my girlfriends room!
- it is sometimes hard to find pics on the digi-cam i can put online!
- it is almost possible to make suicide with taccos-dips!
- swiss cops drive faster than allowed when they are abroad!

Lappland Trip

Dear all!
I'm safe back home from Lappland. The last couple of days I went to Kiruna, about 250 km north of the polar circle. It was something of the best I have experienced in my life! Damn cold but simply beautiful. Even though the weather was mostly clear in the night, we didn't see any Northern light... Conclusion: I have to go again :-)
Don't want to write too much at the beginning. Just check the pics and comments!

Zimli chaut, aber landschaftlech öppis vom auerischönschte! Obwohls mehrheitlech klar isch gsy ide Nächt und mir jewile dr Wecker mehreri mal hei la lüte, heimr d Nordliechter nid gseh... Ski trip to Ulricehamn

Hejsan!

Today was a great day. A couple of exchange students and swedish students went together to Ulricehamn to do some skiing (surf to www.uc-skidcenter.se). Even though the weatherforecast was bad, we had a sunny lovely day. As earlier mentioned in my blog, the ski runs were pretty short and the variance was poor (at least for swiss conditions). But we loved it anyway! Good snow, gorgeous weather conditions, well preparated runs, acceptable waiting time at the lift, what else do you want? For some of the students it was their very first time in life on skis. They were amazingly talented! Congratulations to you guys agaian! Tongiht, is a birthday party going on in a neighbour student-house. Can't miss it! ;-)

Obwohl dr Wätterfrösch schlächts Wätter gmäudet het, isches wunderbar sunnig gsy. Wini scho früecher i mim blog aadütet ha ka, hets nid so viu verschideni Pischte gha, und diser si ono sehr churz gsy. Aber was wottmä meh aus guete Schnee, suber präparierti Pischte, fantastischs Wätter und akzeptierbari Wartezyte am Lift? Für es paar vo de Studis isches z absolut erschte mau gsy, dassi uf Ski gstange si. Si si aui sehr begabt gsy, würklech! On Friday Solen from France celebrated her birthday. Since she's living just one floor above my flat, we had a short way to the party. The kitchen was the bar and the common room was the lounge area ;-)
Even though Elin and me planned to go to bed early, it became quite late... To sum up: nice people and great atmosphere, and Elin was able to practice a lot of german!
We spent Saturday and Sunday at her parents/grandparents place and relaxed.

Dear all!
Unfortunately, our lovely swedish teacher was sick today. Good chance to make a trip to Gothenburg. We were hanging out in the city, went to the harbour and finally visited a great outlet store outside Gothenburg (www.freeport.se). Was a great day and after a week, we saw the sun again :-)
Tonight, we will visit the student cinema and watch a german movie ;-) (Der Untergang).

I spent two days in Linköping and celebrated Valentine's day and Elin's birthday. We went to a nice restaurant in Linköping (www.riva.se). The next day I did something I have never done before... Shopping with a girl for five hours... To all girls: you know what this means! To all boys: don't try to beat me! ;-)
Since Elin has to study and read tons of books, I had to leave yesterday. After I arrived back home in Borås, I had dinner with Gabi. We thereafter went to the Studentpub. I also visited a new Club with Zsolt and Helena (www.xoy.se).
And of course we went, as a traditional act, to Radhuset Club as well.

Elin left Borås today. She has a bad cold and is sick. Therefore I am not allowed to put pics online of her this time! ;-) Puss älskling ;-)

I will visit her pretty soon in Linköping since Valentine's day is also her birthday. Convenient :-)

Yesterday an inofficial ERASMUS party took place in an other studenthome. Bad stories have been told today in Borås about this party and with respect to some persons privacy I will publish just a very very small selected amount of pics (...) ;-)

After the party on Thursday Elin and me decided to relax. Best place to do that is at her parents house in Grästorp. Grästorp is located about 90 km from Borås (1 hour from Gothenburg, in the Trollhättan area where the Saabs cars are/were built). It was nice weather and -12 degrees...

It's snowing again today. I catched up a bad cold as almost all people in my flat and in the swedish course. I hope to feel better soon. Elin will arrive later this afternoon and we will spend the weekend together.
My Indian flatmate will cook tasty Indian food today for Elin, Gabi, me and other flatmates. As a big fan of the Indian kitchen, I'm really looking forward to it! Afterwards we will go downtown to a studentparty at the Student Unions Pub.

Monday second week

Heute schneit es wie doof! Wohl schon die ganze Nacht hindurch. Es hatte am morgen schätzungsweise über 20 cm Neuschnee. Drei Stunden Schule = 5-8 cm Schneedecke auf dem Auto.
Hier seht ihr eines meiner Schulgebäude.
Heute hab ich das erste mal die Mensa ausprobiert, nach dem meine class-mates voll des Lobes waren. Ich war überrascht wie schmackhaft das Essen ist! Und preiswert: Wasser, Salat vom Buffet und Fleischgericht für rund 7 CHF! Passt!

This is the way the Swedes "clean" the roads. Slightly different to what I'm used from Switzerland! At least no-one is driving with summer tires up here ;-) But even though I saw a car crash this morning on the way to school.

Fast hätte ich sie vermisst! Dann aber doch noch ein Stück "Heimat" ;-) Wäre ja auch komisch, wenn die nur in Bern in der Aarbergergasse ihre Runden drehen würden ;-)

Hejhej!

After I spent the first three nights on the camping ground youthhostel of Borås, I was able to move in to my flat yesterday. I've got a lovely room (about 21 squaremeters) with to separte beds (= guests are welcomed!). And also my car got a nice, lockable garage ;-)

I share the bathroom with a swedish girl and a swedish boy. The kitchen and the living-room area is shared with some other guys who are from Sweden, India, Nigeria, Hungary, Spain and Turkey. An intercultural exchanged is guaranteed under these circumstances and I'm really looking forward to that! Unfortunately, I haven't met all of them until now. Hope to do so within the next few days.

Most of my sparetime I spent so far with Gabi, a swiss girl studing a different subject at the same University in Olten.

Tomorrow I'll travel to Linköping and spend the weekend together with Elin at her place. I hope to be able to post some more pics soon!

Ä tolle interkulturelle Ustusch het scho am erschte Aabe stattgfunde und i fröie mi uf di kommendi Zyt!

Di meischti Freizit verbringi mit dr Gabi. Si chunnt o vor FHSO in Olten, studiert dört aber nid mit mir zämä. (Macht z glieche Programm wi ig, aber uf Dütsch. = Betriebsökonomie)
Si wohnt im Zäntrum diräkt näb dr Schueu, i wohne zimli am Stadtrand.
